Mark Helm was a natural at real estate sales from the very beginning of his career. In 1985, he sold $2.4 million in residential properties in his first year alone, placing him in the top five percent of real estate agents nationally. Capitalizing on his sales abilities, the national real estate franchise he worked for in Louisville, KY promoted Mark to be a trainer of new agents. He would become the most productive person in his office and received awards for Top Selling Agent, Top Listing Agent, Agent of the Year and Super Agent (for consistent multi-million dollar volume) and more.

Looking to expand his capabilities beyond residential sales, Mark joined the Blacketer Company, a Louisville building and development company. He worked very closely with the development team to learn site location, development and the techniques of marketing the end product. This experience taught Mark how to take a commercial real estate product from the planning stages all the way through to the final buyer. Once again, he achieved success quickly by closing the greatest number and highest total dollar value of commercial and investment property listings of any agent on the staff within eight months of joining the firm.

Mark next joined forces with John Hoagland and helped define and create Hoagland Commercial Realtors. HCR managed and leased over 1 million square feet of real estate during Mark’s tenure providing an ideal venue to develop a “hands on” approach to property management, tenant relations and leasing. As a major contributor to the group and success of the company, Mark was personally responsible for the marketing of over 15 million dollars worth of inventory.

Mark then took his experience and formed Helm/Dischinger Property Management, Inc., and placed his commercial real estate brokerage business with RE/MAX Commercial Brokers of Louisville. Helm/Dischinger Property Management currently manages approximately 300,000 square feet of office and retail product and employees six full time staff people. Mark continues to be a high production commercial Broker, generating sales that rank in the top five percent of real estate agents nationally every year and earning the distinction of #1 RE/MAX Commercial Agent in the Kentucky/Tennessee Region in 2001, 2002, and 2004.

In addition to his property management company, Mark Helm also co-founded Q-II Holdings, LLC in 1996, a development company which has to date been involved in over $16,000,000 in projects. Q-II Holdings has developed and constructed build-to-suit retail buildings for national retail companies, redeveloped seventeen former Color Tile retail locations in nine different states, as well as various land projects in the Louisville area. Mark also is actively involved and past president of The Kentucky Real Estate Exchangors.
